Focus and Scope
JSSI welcomes manuscripts in the following focus areas:
Sustainable Energy and Systems, including research on renewable energy technologies such as solar, wind, geothermal, and biomass, as well as energy storage systems, smart grids, hydrogen and fuel cells, energy efficiency, and life cycle assessment of energy systems.
Computational and Data-Driven Sciences for Sustainability, covering artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, big data analytics, computational modeling and simulation, digital twin systems, Internet of Things (IoT), and smart technologies for sustainable applications.
Green Technology and Sustainable Materials, encompassing green chemistry, sustainable and bio-based materials, nanomaterials, waste management, circular economy, environmental engineering, pollution control, and sustainable manufacturing processes.
Environmental and Sustainability Sciences, including environmental monitoring and assessment, climate change mitigation and adaptation, ecosystem management, biodiversity conservation, water and air quality studies, and sustainable agriculture and food systems.
Science Education and Learning Innovation, focusing on STEM and STEAM education, scientific literacy, education for sustainable development (ESD), digital learning technologies such as e-learning, AR/VR, AI-based learning, innovative teaching and learning models, and curriculum development and assessment in science education.
Innovation, Technology, and Society, addressing sustainable product and process innovation, social and community-based innovation, technology transfer, knowledge dissemination, sustainability policies and governance, as well as entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems.
JSSI particularly encourages interdisciplinary research that bridges fundamental scientific knowledge and real-world applications, and prioritizes studies that demonstrate practical and measurable contributions to sustainable development in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
